Travel Advice/Warnings
This is generally a safe country but be aware pick pockets are present in the busier and tourist areas. Avoid public gatherings and demonstrations as they can occasionally turn violent. Petty street crime is common, avoid wearing expensive jewellery and carrying valuables. Keep your Passport and travel documentation in a safe place.
Vaccinations & Health Alerts
Medical facilities are good but can be expensive. Pollution in the main towns and cities may cause respiratory problems such as asthma. It is recommended that you vaccinate against Hep A, Typhoid, Malaria and Yellow Fever. Dengue Fever is common.

Subtropical in the north with rain throughout the year. The far south is sub-arctic and the central mainland is temperate. Many provinces suffer from seasonal flooding. Visit any time of year.

Getting Around
Air travel is the most efficient way to travel but due to its popularity, it can be busy and subject to delays. Rail travel is subject to disruption. Main roads are generally in good condition but roads in rural areas can be impassable after heavy rain. Buses are reliable. Car crime is on the increase in built up areas, you are advised to keep doors locked and windows shut.
