| Recommended vaccinations: Hep A and Typhoid. Carry proof of vaccination against Yellow Fever if travelling from an country where Yellow Fever is present. High incidence of HIV/AIDS. There is a reciprocal health care agreement with the UK which covers some aspects of emergency treatment. |

| This is the most easterly of the Caribbean islands and is relatively flat. The climate is tropical and the temperature fluctuates very little throughout the year. The wettest months are from June to November when hurricanes occur. Whilst downpours are heavy there is still plenty of sun during this time. |

| Local Customs/Laws |
| This is a very casual, laid back island. You are not allowed to import meat products. Topless sunbathing is not appreciated. Do not wear camouflage clothing. |
| Getting Around |
| The road network varies and those in rural areas are particularly bad. Drive with caution, driving standards unpredictable. Car hire can be arranged for all or part of a day. Temporary driving licences are required and will be issued form the local police station. Taxis are widely used but agree the fare first. |

| New Year on 1 January, Barrow Day on 21 January, National Heroes Day on 28 April, Labour Day on 1 May, Emancipation on 1 August, Kadooment Day on 4 August and Independence Day holiday on 1 December. Christian holidays for 2010 include: Lent which commences on 17 February, Easter from 2-5 April, Ascension Day on 16 May, Whitsun (Pentecost) on 23 May, Corpus Christi on 6 June, Assumption on 15 August and Christmas Day on 25 December. |
