| Recommended vaccinations: Hep A and Typhoid. Proof of Yellow Fever is required if travelling from an infected country. Malaria and Dengue Fever are present. Medical facilities are limited, ensure medical insurance covers evacuation by air ambulance. |

| It is advisable to carry some form of ID. Possession of drugs is a serious offence. Homosexuality not socially acceptable. |
| Getting Around |
| Internal flights and reliable bus routes link major towns. Main roads are generally well maintained but driving standards can be poor. Be aware that some infrastructure problems still exist in some areas as a result of the Hurricane that hit in August 07. Only use officially recognised border crossing points to Guatemala. |
