| Getting Around |
| Local bus, rail and tram services operate but are slow. Risk of land mines still exist, use an experienced guide if leaving the main routes. Use official taxis only and check first whether they will take you to your destination. Sarajevo airport prone to fog in the winter, expect delays. |

| New Year on 1 January, 9 January Republic Day, St Sava's day on 27 January, 1 March Independence Day, Labour Day on 1 May and the holiday on 2 May, St Georges Day on 6 May, St Vitus' Day on 28 June and National Day on 25 November. Muslim holidays for 2010 include: Sunni Muslims celebrate the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday on 26 February and Shia Muslims celebrate this on 3 March (not celebrated by all), Ramadam which commences from sunset on 11 August and culminates with Eid al-Fitr on 10 September, the Feast of the Sacrifice, Eid al-Adha on 17 November, Al-Hijira on 18 December and Ashura on 16 December. Christian holidays for 2010 include: Lent which commences on 17 February, Easter from 2-5 April, Ascension Day on 16 May, Whitsun (Pentecost) on 23 May, Corpus Christi on 6 June, Assumption on 15 August and Christmas Day on 25 December. Orthodox Christmas on 7 January, Orthodox New Year 14 January, Orthodox Epiphany on 19 January and Orthodox Easter 12-5 April. There are also various days attributed to different Saints. |
