Travel Advice/Warnings
This is a safe place to visit but be aware petty theft is a growing problem, particularly in Prague. Pickpockets target the main tourist attractions, the main railway station, and public transport. Be especially vigilant on all routes to and from the major tourist sites and on the buses between the airport and Prague itself.
Vaccinations & Health Alerts
It is recommended that you vaccinate against Hep A, Typhoid and Polio. Take out the EHIC before you travel.

Shops open at 7am and close earlier than in the UK.
Getting Around
Internal flights link most major towns. The train service is quick and reliable. Roads are generally in a good condition. Buses are cheap and dependable and they link towns not covered by the rail network. Car hire is available. If you cross into the Czech Republic, ensure you have all your travel documents with you as random checks can be carried out, especially near the border areas.

New Year on 1 January, Easter is celebrated between 2-5 April 10, May Day on 1 May, Liberation Day on 8 May, Day of the Apostles on 5 July, Anniversary of Martyrdom of Jan Hus on 6 July, Czech Statehood Day on 28 September, Freedom of Democracy on 17 December and Christmas from 24-16 December. Other occasions celebrated are Witches Night on 30 April, Blessing of the Waters in the first week in May and Slavnost Petiliste Ruze in the 3rd week in June.
