| Vaccinations & Health Alerts |
| HIV/AIDS is prevalent. It is recommended that you vaccinate against Hep A and Typhoid. Take preventative measures not to be bitten by mosquitos as Malaria and Dengue Fever are both present. A good range of across the counter medicines is available, including some normally only available on prescription in the UK. |

| Tourism police are based in main locations and speak English. Homosexuality is widely accepted. It is polite to ask before taking photographs of local people. |
| Getting Around |
| Roads are variable in quality and the worse ones deteriorate during the wetter months. Car rental is easy but you must be over 25 to drive. 4x4 vehicles are advised. Buses are reliable and cheap. Motorbike taxis widely available - be prepared for a hair raising ride however! |

Christian holidays for 2010 include: Lent which commences on 17 February, Easter from 2-5 April, Ascension Day on 16 May, Whitsun (Pentecost) on 23 May, Corpus Christi on 6 June, Assumption on 15 August and Christmas Day on 25 December. There are also a number of music and jazz festivals during the year. |
