| Getting Around |
| Rail and road networks are good generally. It is compulsory to have winter tyres on vehicles between November and April and dipped headlights between September and April. Buses and trolley buses are well used. Tickets for buses and trolley buses in Vilnius and Kaunas are best bought from a news kiosk (spauda) as they cost more if bought from the driver. Taxis are widely available but it is cheaper and safer to phone a recognised company. Do not hail them in the street or use unmarked ones. |
