| It is recommended that you vaccinate against Hep A, Typhoid and carry proof of Yellow Fever if travelling from an infected country. Ensure your travel insurance covers you for evacuation by air ambulance because serious injuries or illnesses are evacuated to Puerto Rico. |

| The temperature varies little throughout the year and it is always pleasantly warm. Rainfall is heavy with May to October being the wettest months. Hurricanes are experienced between June to November. |
| Local Customs/Laws |
| Homosexuality is not widely accepted. Do not wear camouflage clothing. Possession of drugs is illegal. Keep beachwear to the beach and poolside only. |
| Getting Around |
| Ferries operate between the islands. The roads are good with buses, taxis, hire cars and mopeds available. |
| Public Holidays/Festivals |
| New Year on 1 January, Carnival on 2 January, Easter from 2-5 April 10, Labour Day on 5 May, Whit Monday on 24 May, Emancipation on 7 August, Heroes Day on 17 September and Christmas on 25 & 26 December. Also Independence Day on 19 September, and the extra long Christmas celebrations from 17 December to 3 January on St Kitts. Culturama which lasts for a week and starts on 3 August is one of the main events of the year which celebrates the emancipation of the slaves in the 19th Century. |
