| The temperature changes little throughout the year and is moderated by the NE trade winds. It is always pleasantly warm, despite the ample rainfall they receive. The best time to visit is from January to April but you will still need your umbrella. Hurricanes are experienced between June to November. |

| You are not allowed to import meat and plant products. It is likely that you may be encouraged to dress up slightly in some of the smarter hotels and restaurants. Homosexuality is not widely accepted. Do not wear camouflage clothing. Possession of drugs is illegal. Keep beachwear to the beach and poolside only. |
| Getting Around |
| There is a reasonably good road network and taxis, buses or hire cars are easily accessed. Use only licensed taxis and agree the price before setting off. Inter island flights are possible. |

| New Year on 1 January, Independence Day on 22 February, Easter from 2-5 April 10, Labour Day on 1 May, Whit Monday on 24 May, Corpus Christi on 6 June, Emancipation on 1 August, Thanksgiving on 2 October, National Day on 13 December and Christmas on 25 & 26 December. In addition St Lucia hosts a carnival in February and a Jazz Festival in May. |
