Our own trips away have taught us that even as experienced travellers you can be faced with unexpected challenges; we narrowly missed the effects of the Tsunami and as a result were moved to another location and were faced with unexpected costs. We used our card to call our travel insurance company as we were unsure at the time whether they could reimburse this expenditure. Closer to home and as a result of being pick pocketed in Amsterdam we became conscious of the range "what would I do in the event of" type questions. These have been incorporated into our website and are aimed at providing sound, practical advice when your travels don't exactly go to plan. In essence our overarching aim at Secure Travel Organiser is to provide a product along with information to enhance your travel experience. Whether you have been off on an adventure holiday, have taken time out on a gap trip or have taken a city break, we would love to hear from you and how Secure Travel Organiser has helped you. The concept of Secure Travel Organiser originated in 2003 whilst travelling in the back of a rickety Tuk Tuk through the countryside in Sri Lanka. The high likelihood of being bounced out onto the dusty track prompted a discussion about how we would gain access to our medical insurance or prove who we were with only 2000 Rupees (£10) in our pockets. Coupled with not wanting to carry valuable documents whilst out and about, we devised a simple, low cost solution to carry key information. This has evolved into the product you can purchase today. Earlier prototypes have been used as an impromptu additional form of identification to facilitate VISA purchases. It was also a ready source of information in readiness of not being able to salvage one of our passports after it was nearly ruined during a snorkelling trip.
